M. Shayne Ruffing

Founder and Managing Director

A longtime financial entrepreneur dedicated to serving the medical community. Shayne is the founder and Managing Director of Integrated WealthCare, Inc. As part of his commitment to his clients and work, Shayne is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, and a Chartered Financial Consultant.
With a focus on wealth management and financial planning, Shayne leads a dedicated team of professionals who deliver personalized, comprehensive wealth management services to meet each client’s unique circumstances. From entering medical school through every stage of a physician’s career, the team’s in-depth knowledge and experience in long-range financial planning helps clients get from where they are, to where they want to go – a strong financial future.

Inspired by the fact that the financial needs of the medical community require specialized money management, Shayne is the creator of two proprietary financial systems designed exclusively for his firm’s clientele.

Using Your WealthCare Protector™ and the Confident Transition Plan™, Shayne and his team tailor sophisticated financial solutions delivered in a simple, concise format. By helping medical professionals define, organize and optimize their financial life, Integrated WealthCare enables clients to spend more time managing their practice; not their wealth management professionals.

In addition to his firm work, Shayne is a frequent lecturer to several regional and national medical groups, including The American College of Emergency Physicians, The Emergency Medicine Residents Association, The Society of Academic Emergency Physicians, as well as multiple academic programs across the country. He has previously spoken to the North Carolina chapters of the Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics Societies. Shayne has published a number of articles for medical journals, such as M.D. News, and authored columns for the journals, EM Resident and the ACG Update.

Away from work, Shayne has served as an Elder and Deacon in the Presbyterian Church, has served the City of Durham as a graduate of the Leadership Durham Program, as Past Chair of the Education Top Priority Program, and as Past President of the local Estate Planning Council.
